Humidifier which actually belongs to Bubby but my hot steam vaporiser makes the whole room so damp that moisture drips from the walls and ceiling, Vicks vapor rub, ventolin puffer, steroid puffer, steroid nasal spray, papaw ointment because dry lips kill you slowly, thermometer to tell me if my fever gets high enough to go to the doctor again and a bottle of water. Not shown are a box of tissues, antibiotics and a packet of paracetamol. I just wish to be able to breathe. Damn you, asthma and acute rhinosinusitis. Hubby is away on business for the week but thankfully my parents insisted on staying with us. I wouldn't have had the energy to take care of Bubby and cook and clean and work. I worked 15 hours today which is just stupid of me considering the state I'm in but deadlines can't wait and I have decided to take tomorrow off so things had to be completed today. I'm likely to do more work from home tomorrow anyway but at least I won't be bothered by people dumping more work on my desk, things that people say will only take me a couple of minutes to look at but always takes up much longer. So over it all at the moment.
Update: At 5.45 AM after a night of restless sleep, lots of coughing, lots of soreness everywhere and not much breathing.

I'm late commenting, but I hope you're all better by now. Being sick is bad enough but being sick when you've got kids to look after is the pits. Your parents are lovely. Mine always offer to do the same for me when MrBB is away :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, BB. I am slowly getting better. I think maybe going back to work full time might have been a mistake. I don't know how you do it with two little ones.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I do it either. I know I wouldn't be able to do it without my parents that's for sure. The peace of mind they give me by looking after my kids makes a big difference. But at the end of the day, I too am in the same boat as you. I am really not enjoying working at the moment and wish I had taken advantage of my full 12 months of maternity leave instead of cutting it short to 8 months. The kicker is that I actually only work 4 days a week but feel like I need to work less than that. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteHope it all works out for you! :) Maybe we will both snap out of it soon????
